          Description

          Tirzepatide is a synthetic analogue of gastric inhibitory polypeptide (GlP) that wasdeveloped for its ability to stimulate insulin release and thus address both type 2 diabetesand non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Made up of 39 amino acids, the relatively largeTirzepatide stimulates the release of insulin from the pancreas by binding to both GIP andGLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1)receptors. Taken over longer periods of time, Tirzepatideincreases adiponectin levels by as much as 26% as well[1].

           Tirzepatide works by activating two receptors—GLP-1 and GIP—that help regulate blood sugar and appetite. This dual action boosts insulin release, slows digestion, and reduces hunger signals in the brain, improving metabolic function and energy balance.

          Improved Blood Sugar Control – In one animal study, Tirzepatide helped lower blood sugar levels and improved how the body handled glucose in obese mice, showing better insulin sensitivity and glycemic balance.

          Reduced Food Intake – A trial on rodents showed that Tirzepatide decreased appetite, leading to reduced calorie intake. This was linked to its effects on brain signals controlling hunger.

          Enhanced Metabolic Function – In a preclinical study with diabetic monkeys, Tirzepatide improved overall metabolic health by lowering triglycerides, enhancing energy use, and reducing markers of insulin resistance.
